With at least 40 exercises to do,
a compact design, and the endorsement of Chuck Norris himself, the Total Gym is
one of the best exercise machines out on the mark today. By using your own body
weight as resistance, you get a rigorous workout without the need to add
weights to it. You also can set the incline as high or low as you wish to boost
the resistance and also add accessories for various exercises. There are three
different models for home use (the 2000, 3000, and XLS), plus two for
commercial use in gyms as well.
The basic model is the Total Gym
2000. This is the most widely see version that gets advertised on TV. While it
provides great upper body workouts out of the box, lower body workouts will require
you to buy additional accessories to do them. You also have a weight limit of
250 lbs, which is fine for healthy individuals, but may not be for those who
are over that limit. However, this model is also the cheapest at $599 brand
new. You also get a lifetime warranty on the frame, but not the parts involved
with the pulley system.
For those who want to do upper
and lower body workouts, the Total Gym 3000 is what you might be looking for.
It has all of the standard features as the model above, plus a squat pad and 20
more exercises to do. You also get a wall poster detailing all of the exercises
that you can do with it. Plus, the 3000 supports up to 300 lbs, which is great
for those in great physical shape and those who want to shed a few pounds. This
model will cost you $849, but also comes with a 90 day parts warranty and a $1
30-day trial offer.
For those who wish to go the
distance, the Total Gym XLS offers over 80 exercises thanks to the Pilates kit
and DVDs for the best workout possible. You also get an upgraded backrest and
squat pad for added comfort to boot. The DVD part of this package includes
workouts, body building techniques, and smart training exercises. Also included
is the wall chart and a nutrition guide to keep those unwanted pounds from
coming back to haunt you. The XLS is the most expensive model at $1071, but
also comes with a 6 months warranty on parts, the $1 trial offer, and supports
up to 400 lbs easily.
You should buy either one of the
Total Gym exercise machines through them directly, online, and in many sporting
goods stores. You'll be getting all of the features and bonuses that each one
provides, regardless of where you purchase them. Plus, if you obtain direct,
you can at least try the Total Gym 3000 and XLS out for a month and send it
back if you don't like it. One thing's for sure: if Chuck Norris says it works,
you should at least give it a go before you buy.
